The Ocean in Us #37

I fell into watching the swiftly passing stars, flat on my back,

My body refusing to sink into the hands laid out for me

But pleasantly and steadily I began to see you,

Tearing my arms upward and letting my fingers move the planets like chess pieces

Until they aligned perfectly in the moments I wanted them to.

People say you cannot control your destiny but I am

Controlling mine with one pinky on the dial,

Here you are, I see you, and

I say it with more than a momentary sense,

More than a sense that turns blind when the lights turn sour.

Here you are, I see you,

Follow my movements,

Watch the sky dance under me

As I pass it through my hands like water

Dripping out of a falling glass,

Molecularly,

Mid-air.
