The Watermarks Across My Skin #14

I think about you but when I think about you,

My body feels heavy like the air after a summer rain and

I fear that I will fall onto your doorstep again and again

But never let myself step in after you offer me a place to stay.

And I don’t know what it is that we do,

We run through each other like we should be running through waterfalls,

All the cuts that burn on my skin.

We tear at each other and I feel as if we are like the

Elephants you watch on TV and I watch through the window pane,

All that roaming about with nothing to say but everything to think of.

The most unwise thing is often the most worthwhile,

But there are some lessons you learn too late.
