Strangers

If I saw you on the street

I wouldn’t recognize you;

That tall, slender frame now

Pregnant with misinformation,

Those eyes colored with

Memories I had no hand in creating,

Your rough skin calloused by new sins;

I could rumor you a world.

If you walked by me tomorrow

I would be blind to it;

The strict-laced gaze of your novel breath

A phantom to my old soul.
