I missed you from the moment I met you.
Eight minutes into seeing your
Eyes light up against mine I was
Sold on you.
You were like oxygen in my caved in, punctured lungs
You were like every moment I never thought I’d never see condensed into one
(You were the lilies in the water and you were the moon)
I don’t know much about this sort of thing or the
Ten thousand miles and counting separating our short breaths
But I want to know.
I want to know how many words it takes to masquerade as a whisper,
How many it takes to play on a kiss.
